The course meets the official national requirements for annually updating training related to the operation of electrical installations (FSE) including first aid, but it does not cover CPR. It is essential that you receive practical training in CPR (mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and chest compression) as a supplement to this theoretical course. Personnel must renew their training at least every 12 months, cf. Guidelines to §7 in Operation of Electrical Installations (FSE).
NIS- and NOR-registered ships are subject to Norwegian jurisdiction. The requirement to apply FSE is pursuant to the Act relating to the inspection of electrical installations and electrical equipment, from July 24, 1929, where it is stated: This Act applies to all electrical installations and electrical equipment, with the exception of radiotelegraphy and radiotelephony.
The course is designed for:
All who work with and maintain electrical low-voltage installations on NIS- and NOR- registered shipping vessels. This applies to everyone who has anything to do with electrical installations on board. Apart from electricians, this also includes engineers, telecommunications and instrument personnel, and automation technicians.
